Week 5: Winning Wong, Krying Kwant
Team Wong extends winning streak to 5 as Chelsea's Dagger falls to 1-4 on the year.
Week 5 Recap
We have one man standing! Congrats to Kendall for extending his winning streak to 5 games! At 5-0, he becomes the first team to take sole possession of 1st place this season.
Kendall is closely trailed by Unleash the Fury, Pray to Pagans, and Snow Cones who are all currently sitting at 4-1.
Mark was victorious against Eric in last weeks featured matchup, winning 248.1-220.7. With that win, Mark snaps his two week skid and is in prime position to jump up the table next week.
This is where things get interesting.
Places 6-11 are all tied at 2-3 on the year! After a massive performance against Joe, I have jumped from 11th to 6th, with Lexie and Jordan rounding out the final playoff positions. The battle for 8th is looking just as juicy as the battle for 1st. Only time will tell what teams are able to separate themselves from the rest of the pack!
Ian, Joe, and Zach round out the standings, all 1-4 on the young season. Is the basement of the 2024/25 season starting to take shape?!
Despite a hot start from Artemi Panarin, Ian finds himself in the same position as last season… looking up. After being projected to finish second after the draft, things have not gone to plan. He has never made the playoffs and is in desperate need of a jolt. As the infamous Sylvain Cardin once said, “YOU NEED TO DRINK FROM THE HOSE OF KNOWLEDGE. I WAS HEAD OF HYDRATION SERVICES OF NASHVILLE PREDATORS FOR A REASON!” May I suggest a reread of Hockey Tough (THE BIBLE) by Saul Miller.
Here are the full standings after five weeks of play:
Week 6 Preview: Battle of the Basement
This week is highlighted by the Battle of Churchill. Zach and Ian go head to head in a barn burner! One team will jump to 2-4 on the season, while the other stumbles to 1-5. This is the type of matchup that can turn an entire season around.
