Week 2: Malkin Unleashes the Fury
Katelyn cruises into first place thanks to a big week from Malkin!
Week 2 Recap
With two weeks of the regular season in the books, Katelyn cruises to the top of the standings! Congrats to our five remaining undefeated teams.
Philly’s Elite defeated The Bad Brew 208.5-147.5 to win our week 2 Featured Matchup. Congrats, Jordan! The same week Matvei Michkov announced himself to the NHL and won over the hearts of Flyers fans everywhere, Jordan etched out an impressive win over a very strong Bad Brew team. Both of those teams look like true playoff contenders!
Here are the full standings after two weeks of play:
Rivalry Week Preview
The best week of the regular season is here! Let the chirping begin and get that bad blood flowing. This year’s Rivalry Week features some of our league’s most historic grudge matches.
Ian’s longtime feud with Snow Cones renews, Mark and Kendall duke it out yet again, old time friends Zach and Henry come head to head, expansion teams Lexie and Joe fight for supremacy, Jordan and Paige face off in the Richard Montgomery derby, and title contenders Eric and Katelyn battle it out for bragging rights.
There is only one matchup, however, that comes front and center this time of year. You guessed it… this week’s Featured Matchup is none other than Blitzkrieg vs. Mr. Dub! Mr. Dub and I have faced each other in the championship finals 3 times dating all the way back to 2012/13. Fate has seemingly always paired us up in the big moments and this week will be yet another intense chapter in our epic saga.
Commish Notes
Don’t forget to use the Trading List whenever you are considering a trade. It allows you to select the players you are willing to trade and also identify which positions you are looking for in return. I also encourage you to use our group text to put out feelers.
Current Trade Block:
Mat Barzal (Lou’s Still Clueless)
Dylan Larkin (Blitzkrieg)
I also want to take a second to recommend the new Prime Video NHL show called Faceoff: Inside the NHL. It reminds me of HBO’s Road to the Winter Classic from back in the day.
Good luck to everyone except Mr. Dub! Let the fun begin…
