Week 15: Mr. Dub Returns to the Top
Puck Me Up's massive upset victory over Snow Cones propels the 3-time champ into first place!
Week 15 Recap
Paige sent shockwaves through the league when she narrowly defeated Snow Cones, 237.4-227.7 late Sunday night. Puck Me Up’s huge win sends the Swiss machine into 2nd place, opening up top spot for the winningest manager in league history, Mr. Dub.
Having only lost 3-times and leading the league in points, Mr. Dub’s impressive run of form is a sign that he will be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time. Our 3-time champion hasn’t won the coveted Maryland All-Stars Cup since 2017/18, a drought that correlates with the salary cap draft era. Will he finally make it 4 Cups this year?
The other big win of the week belongs to Chelsea’s Dagger. Ian has been on the prowl for a playoff spot and his impressive victory over Katelyn’s Unleash the Fury puts him just 1 win back of Team Wong and 2 wins back of the playoff spots. With 7-weeks remaining in the regular season, this could be the spark he has been searching for!
Elsewhere around the league, Team Weinstein handed the Washington Hockey Team its 11th consecutive defeat, Philly’s Elite extended the Bad Brew’s historic losing streak to 14, and Mr. Dub handed Bugida Jones their 7th straight loss. Henry, Zach, and Joe’s playoff hopes are all but dead.
My Blitzkrieg defeated Team Wong, sending Kendall down to 9th place and on the outside looking in. With Ian and Paige right on his tail, Kendall needs a few strong weeks to get himself back in contention.
Here are the full standings after 15 weeks of play:
Week 16 Preview
This week features an intense matchup between 8th place Philly’s Elite and 9th place Team Wong. Not only is the final playoff position up for grabs, but if Jordan wins, he will extend the gap between the bubble teams by 2 wins. With only 7 weeks to go, that is a very difficult hurdle to overcome. This will be a good one!
