Week 13: The Top-8 Shuffle and A Historic Losing Streak
Snow Cones and Mr. Dub keep on pace as 3rd-9th changes drastically!
Week 13 Recap
There are only 9 weeks to go in the 2024/25 regular season!
Snow Cones’ dominant victory over Bugida Jones and Mr. Dub’s convincing win over my Blitzkrieg keep the two of them at the top of the standing in first and second, respectively. The rest of the league is 3 wins back of Snow Cones and 2 wins back of Mr. Dub. The next few weeks will be crucial in preventing further separation from the pack.
The rest of the top-8 saw a drastic change this past week. In addition to my loss, Team Weinstein suffered defeat to Philly’s Elite and Lexie’s Legit lost to Ian’s Chelsea’s Dagger. Despite Mark and I being second and third in the league in total points, we fall to 7th and 8th place. Katelyn, Eric, Kendall, and Jordan round out the 3-6 spots.
Ian’s big win over Lexie leaves him in sole possession of 10th place and only win out of the playoff spots! The man who has never made the playoffs is still very much in contention and desperately needs a strong finish to the year.
Puck Me Up lost a narrow one to Lou’s Still Clueless and is only 2 wins out from the playoff positions. A lot can change in 9 weeks!
While Ovechkin hunts down Wayne Gretzky and propels Unleash the Fury up the standings as he does it, we have a league member of our own out here making history…
Zach’s week 13 loss to Kendall brings him level with Phil’s record of 12 consecutive regular season losses. He is officially tied as the most losing manager in the history of the Maryland All-Stars fantasy hockey league. Yikes. Will Zach make it 13 and take sole possession of that unwanted crown or can he turn things around this week? Regardless, The Bad Brew’s 2024/25 season can be summed up using one word. Disaster.
Oh, and Henry. Don’t think I forgot about you!
The Washington Hockey Team is on a 9-game stinker and could very well be joining The Bad Brew at the top of this list if Hank doesn’t turn things around quickly.
Here are the full standings after 13 weeks of play:
Week 14 Preview
Ian’s hunt for the playoffs will be a marquee story around the league this winter. He has struggled to put together back-to-back wins this year and there is no better time to start right now. His issue is that he faces a red hot Lou’s Still Clueless team who has rocketed up the standings in recent weeks. This is sure to be a barn burner!
