Week 11: Snow Cones and Mr. Dub Shine Merry and Bright
Kendall snaps his 4-week skid, taking down Mark in convincing fashion. Zach is on the verge of history.
'Twas the night before week 12, when all through the league
not a team could beat Snow Cones, except for Mr. Dub.
Team Weinstein was nestled all snug in third,
while Kendall and Jordan dreamed of first Cups in their heads.
When down at the basement Ian looked up with a clatter,
just trying to make the playoffs proved quite the matter.
That is the extent of my creative writing career. I’ll hold for your applause….
Week 11 Recap
Week 11 was headlined by some electric performances, none bigger than Kendall’s win over Mark. After a tough month, the California King climbed out of his rut and took down one of the league’s very best. Back in the top-4, it is safe to say that Team Wong’s push for the championship is still very much on. Stick taps, Kendall. Team Weinstein now leads the all-time series 13-6.
Lou’s Still Clueless narrowly defeated Joe’s Bugida Jones to stay on pace with myself, Katelyn, and Lexie for a four way tie in sixth place. Lexie also won a barn burner against Paige, narrowly defeating our sports reporter extraordinaire. Lexie and Paige have both looked strong as of late and will definitely be in the conversation come playoff time.
Our league leader, Snow Cones, beat my Blitzkrieg by 10 points to maintain his first place status. The Swiss machine not only continues his dominance, but now has his best record after 11 weeks of play in team history. Is this his year to win a second Maryland All-Stars Cup?!
In one of the week’s most surprising score lines, Mr. Dub barely escaped a massive upset against The Bad Brew. Mr. Dub’s 9-point margin of victory proved to be enough, however, and now he improves to 8-3 and keeps sole possession of second place. Zach, on the other hand, is now 2 weeks away from tying Phil Satin’s league leading all-time worst losing streak of 12 straight games. Incredibly, this is not Zach’s worst run. Back in 2016/17 he lost 11-straight! Oof. Only time will tell if Zach can turn things around or make some unfortunate history.
Here are the full standings after eleven weeks of play:
Week 12 Preview
Ian and Paige are currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. This week, one of them has the chance to take the upper hand kick start their second half of the regular season in style. This one is massive, folks.
