Week 10: Snow Cones Is Crushin' Ice and Rollin' Nice
The Swiss King takes over sole possession of first place! Mr. Dub and Team Weinstein trail closely behind.
Week 10 Recap
As we enter the halfway point of the regular season, Snow Cones has taken sole possession of first place! The Swiss machine was dominant once again with Drake Batherson’s 4-point performance on Wednesday night leading the way. Snow Cones defeated Team Wong, extending Kendall’s losing streak to 4. If anyone is looking for a trade buddy, Kendall might be your man.
Speaking of losing, Mr. Dub has been on a bit of a skid himself. Having lost the last two weeks, he not only has fallen out of first place, but is now just barely ahead of Team Weinstein by a mere 9 points. Are the tides shifting in the Weinstein household? It looks like it might be a spicy holidays!
Lexie deserves all her flowers for her impressive W over Mr. Dub. She put up 323 points and convincingly took down the former 3-time champion. Sitting in 8th position, Lexie’s Legit boasts more points than 6th place Team Wong and 7th place Philly’s Elite. Is the defending champ about to go on a run!?
Mark currently holds the longest active win steak in the league with 3 straight. He has easily dispatched of Lexie, Mr. Dub, and Zach in that time span and is once again setting himself up for a deep playoff run. Team Weinstein has won 4 of the last 6 Montgomery Trophies (awarded to the team that finishes the regular season in first place) and Gordon Bombay Trophies (awarded to the team that finishes the regular season with the most points) and is showing no signs of slowing down.
My Blitzkrieg narrowly defeated Katelyn’s Unleash the Fury 227-216. With that, we both go level on record (6-4), but Katelyn maintains a healthy lead on points. This was a matchup that went back and forth all week and I expect the race for the playoffs to be no different. The 4-8 spots are still easily up for grabs for anyone sitting on the bubble. I am looking at you, Eric, Ian, Paige, and Joe.
At the basement of the league, Henry and Zach continue to struggle mightily. The Bad Brew is on a 9-game losing streak and the Washington Hockey Team is on a 6-game losing streak. Now is the time to make some adds/drops and trades before it is to late.
Here are the full standings after ten weeks of play:
Week 11 Preview
We have a big one this week! Two teams that are trending in opposite directions go head-to-head in what could have serious implications atop the standings. Mark looks to make it 4 in a row while Kendall looks to finally snap his 4-game losing streak. Will Mark solidify himself as a title favorite or will Kendall prove that the last few weeks have been a fluke after his hot start? Only time will tell. The all-time series record between these two foes is 13-5 in Team Weinstein’s favor.
Stats Hub
Team Weinstein leads the league in goals and Mr. Dub leads the league in assists.
Snow Cones holds the single-season goals record with 330 in 2021 and the Blitzkrieg holds the single-season assists record with 575 also in 2021. Right now, it does not look like anyone is on pace to break those records, but you never know. All it takes is for one team to get hot!
