Week 5: Julia and Kendall Remain Winless
Mr. Dub's impressive victory over Lexie and Madison's first loss of the season propels the 3-time champion to the top of the standings.
What a first 5 weeks of the regular season!
11 of our 14 teams have at least 2 wins and everyone has already passed the 1,000-point threshold. In case you hadn’t realized, this league-wide parity is going to make for quite the playoff race down the stretch. I’m very excited!
Atop the standings after 5 weeks of action is none other than 3-time champion, Mr. Dub. He had 4 different players exceed 30 points this past week, allowing him to handedly defeat a strong Lexie’s Legit club. After two 2nd place finishes in the last 3 seasons, Mr. Dub means business this year as hunts for #4.
Madison’s Gr8 Victory Lap faltered for the first time this season, narrowly losing to Paige’s Puck Me Up. Paige has finally claimed her first win of the season and will look to build on that success in the coming weeks. Stick taps! Madison’s loss means we have no more undefeated teams remaining. She falls back into 3rd place place with a 4-1 record.
Chelsea’s Dagger! I mean what can you say. Ian is sitting pretty in 2nd place with an impressive 1,262 points. Get this… since January 12th, he has only lost twice! What a turnaround for a franchise that had zero playoff births prior to last season. It is safe to say Chelsea’s Dagger is going to be a favorite for the 2025/26 Maryland All-Stars Cup Playoffs.
Henry’s Washington Hockey team captured their 2nd win of the season, equaling his win total for all of last year. Our league’s inaugural champion is also 2nd in the league in goals scored thanks to Connor Bedard and his impressive play. Henry is back folks, look out!
And now to the bad stuff. After 5 weeks, Julia and Kendall have yet to win a single matchup. Oof. They are separated by a mere 1-point for last place in the league. The biggest irony of all is Kendall started last season 5-0 and was looking like a force before a massive collapse saw him eliminated from playoff contention by year’s end. Can this year be a reverse of his luck?
Here are the full standings after five weeks of play:
Week 6 Schedule
Week 6 is headlined by a battle between two 4-1 teams in Chelsea’s Dagger and Gr8 Victory Lap. Ian is trying to continue his strong run of form, while Madison is looking for a rebound after her first loss of the season. Victory could propel either into 1st place depending on the result of Mr. Dub’s matchup. What a banger!
