Week 18: Mr. Dub Gets Kronwalled by Chelsea's Dagger
Chelsea's Dagger upsets #1 Mr. Dub and Unleash the Fury upsets #2 Snow Cones!
Week 18 Recap
Chelsea’s Dagger has upset #1 Mr. Dub! Ian has now defeated Unleash the Fury, Snow Cones, Team Weinstein, and Mr. Dub back-to-back-to-back-to-back. Perhaps one of the best runs in the history of the league puts Ian in 7th place with a record of 10-8. It was a game of chess all week, highlighted by Mr. Dub adding 2 players early Sunday morning. Ian then caught on and added 2 players of his own. Those two players (McDonagh and Hayton) combined for 5.7 points, which was the EXACT margin that Ian won by (216.2-210.5). Unbelievable!
Unleash the Fury was the other big winner this week! Katelyn upset #2 Snow Cones after a massive Sunday that saw her score a whopping 46.9 points with just 3 players. This huge wins moves her up to 5th place and right back into the mix for the top-3. Stick taps!
Philly’s Elite defeated Lexie’s Legit by putting up 318 points against the defending champ. After one of his most impressive wins of the season, Jordan remains at 10-8 and closes the gap to 8th place on points. Way to come up clutch!
Team Weinstein blew out Lou’s Still Clueless, keeping Mark in control of 3rd place. My Blitzkrieg also dominated Bugida Jones to stay in 4th place. With Mr. Dub and Snow Cones both losing, it is still possible to catch up to them for better playoff seeding.
Team Wong convincingly defeated the Washington Hockey Team, helping Kendall keep pace with Jordan as they battle for the coveted 8th playoff position. Things are incredibly tight on the bubble!
With that loss, Henry has now lost his 14th straight and is only 1 more L away from tying Zach’s all-time record set just a few weeks ago.
Paige had her most impressive showing of the season this past week, putting up 332 points against The Bad Brew. Jordan and Kendal’s big wins keep Puck Me Up 3-wins back of the pack, however. A playoff birth is not impossible, but the door is creeping shut with each passing week. Paige needs to win out and rely on results around the league going her way to have any chance. You know what they say, though, it ain’t over till it’s over!
