2025/26 Season Preview
The 16th season of Maryland All-Stars fantasy hockey promises to be special!
Hockey is back! The 16th season of Maryland All-Stars fantasy hockey starts tonight!
Don’t forget to set your lineups. On the back of the most competitive season in league history, our two new teams will only add to the parity. Every single win counts, just look at what happened to my team last season…
Storylines to Monitor
The storylines are storylining this year!
GOAT talk
For the first time since 2017/18, Mr. Dub is no longer the most winning manager in league history. After a dominant 2024/25, Mark’s Team Weinstein is now tied with his father at 3 Cups each. Every time these two powerhouses meet from here on out, it is going to be about #4 and cementing their legacies as the undisputed goat.
The dagger is sharp as ever
After 13 long seasons, Ian’s Chelsea’s Dagger finally snapped the infamous postseason drought. He made it all the way to semi-finals in his first postseason appearance and will look to build on that success. Can Ian make it 2 years in a row or will he fall back into old habits?
New managers with plenty of experience
Madison’s Gr8 Victory Lap and Julia’s JB’s Hockey Team may be in their inaugural seasons, but they bring countless years of elite hockey knowledge to our already deep league. Look out for one or both of these clubs to shock the league and make a deep run this postseason. You don’t have to go too far back into the history books to remember the last time that happened (looking at you, Lexie).
Only goes up from here
After the single worst season in the history of Maryland All-Stars fantasy hockey, Henry’s Washington Hockey Team are looking to rebound. His 18-consecutive losses last year broke the record for most and signaled that things were at an all time low for our first ever champion. An original 8 team deserves better, so here’s to more success for Hank in 2025/26.
Week 1 Schedule
We’re hitting the ground running with a Maryland All-Stars Cup Final rematch headlining this week’s slate of matches.
The two 3-time champs do battle in this week’s featured matchup. After Mark narrowly defeated Mr. Dub 419.7-418.5 in last year’s final, you know his old man is going to be fired up for some revenge.
A lot more than just bragging rights is on the line, however. Mark has a slight 14-10 all-time record against Mr. Dub and this could very well be a preview of a high-stakes playoff battle next Spring.
Commish Notes
I would like to remind everybody of the roster management rules before things get underway:
2 goalie appearances are required per week.
There are a maximum of 20 player adds allowed per season.
There are a maximum of 3 player adds allowed per week.
Dropped players go to waivers for 1 day before hitting free agency.
I would also like to remind everybody of the trade rules:
Managers can make an unlimited number of trades per season.
Accepted trades have a 1 day review period for managers to veto.
The Trade deadline is March 4th, 2026.
Happy NHL Faceoff 2025! Best of luck to each and every one of you this season. Let’s go Islanders!
